Description
Motone Handlebar Riser Kit MTE088 – 1 Inch Up and Over Clear Anodized Aluminum
Improve riding ergonomics without replacing cables or lines. The Motone Up-And-Over Riser Kit MTE088 raises handlebars 1 inch (25mm) and pulls them back 1 inch for relaxed riding position on Triumph Bonneville models with 1-inch (28.6mm) diameter bars, ideal for bobber and tracker builds.
Key Features
- 1″ Rise + 1″ Pullback Geometry → Elevates bars 25mm vertically and 25mm rearward for upright posture without requiring longer throttle, clutch, or brake cables on most applications
- Clear Anodized Aluminum Construction → CNC-machined billet aluminum with transparent anodizing showcases natural silver finish while providing corrosion resistance and professional appearance
- Direct OEM Replacement → Bolts directly to stock triple clamp mounting points using factory hardware without drilling or frame modification
- 1-Inch Bar Compatibility → Designed specifically for 28.6mm (1-inch) diameter handlebars found on air-cooled and liquid-cooled Triumph Bonneville family motorcycles
- Lightweight Precision Design → Complete pair weighs approximately 1.1 lbs (0.5 kg) for minimal unsprung weight addition while maintaining structural rigidity

Installation Guide
- Remove Stock Risers: Unbolt OEM handlebar clamps from triple clamp using appropriate hex socket (typically 8mm or 10mm)
- Clean Mounting Surface: Wipe triple clamp top surface with degreaser to ensure proper riser seating and prevent movement
- Position MTE088 Risers: Align lower riser mounting holes with triple clamp bolt pattern ensuring proper orientation (forward tilt)
- Install Lower Bolts: Thread factory bolts through risers into triple clamp and hand-tighten in cross pattern
- Mount Handlebars: Place bars in upper riser clamps and install top clamp halves with provided or OEM hardware
- Torque All Fasteners: Tighten lower riser bolts to 20-25 Nm and upper bar clamps to 15-18 Nm per factory specification
- Verify Cable Routing: Check throttle, clutch, brake, and electrical cable routing for adequate slack without binding through full steering lock
- Test Operation: Operate all controls through full range of motion before riding to confirm proper cable length and clearance
Why Choose Up-And-Over Risers?
The 1-inch rise and 1-inch pullback geometry provides significant ergonomic improvement for riders experiencing wrist strain, shoulder tension, or forward-leaning discomfort on stock Triumph Bonnevilles. Unlike simple vertical risers that only raise bar height, the up-and-over design combines elevation with rearward sweep to reduce wrist angle and open riding position. This dual-axis adjustment typically eliminates cable replacement requirements that plague taller riser kits requiring 2+ inches of lift.
Maintenance
Check riser mounting bolt torque after first 100 miles and at 3000-mile service intervals. Clean anodized finish with mild soap and water during routine washing. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that may damage protective anodized layer. Periodically inspect upper bar clamp bolts for proper torque to prevent handlebar slippage during hard braking. If bars rotate in clamps, retorque to specification rather than overtightening which may crack aluminum.
British Engineering
Designed and manufactured by Motone in Britain specifically for Triumph motorcycles. Each riser kit undergoes precision CNC machining and controlled anodizing to ensure consistent fitment and finish quality across production runs.
